2008 Annie

This was a wonderful production. Add to that excellent sound, costume, orchestra and cast and the result, a marvellous night in the beautiful Gaiety Theatre, Douglas.

The children were well trained and we had two smashing performances from both Annie and little Molly. As for the adult performances, Miss Hannigan was in the very capable hands of Jane Short. Simon Fletcher gave his usual outstanding performance, which was matched by his partner in crime Lisa Kreisky as they played the parts of Rooster and Lily.

The two sides of Daddy Warbucks came across so well in this production thanks to the acting ability of Tony Hawkes whose singing was not bad either. The role of Grace Farrell I have seen performed many times but Claire Keating’s performance ranks with the best.

Geoff Shimmin as Drake kept the staff in good order and, as always, the chorus of this society were spot on.
