It is always a treat to see a new show and an added pleasure when that production is good.

So you can understand how pleased I was that the show was considerably better than just good. The superb overture tells you exactly that you are in for an enjoyable evening. The orchestra was under the baton of Julian Power and, from past experience, in safe hands.

One of the highlights of the show was a production number lifted straight from Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore titled ‘Matter Matter' now with new words but extremely well done.

The Priscilla Girls where spot on namely Ruth, Gloria, Rita, Alice, Cora, Lucille and Ethel played by Liz Dixon, Julia Bratty, Leanne Jones, Olivia Black, Paula Cross and Louise Jones respectively.

Jane Poole-Wilson gave a performance which was nasty yet funny and young Amelia O'Shea was charming as Dorothy. Ching Ho and Bun Foo sang and spoke in Chinese as if they were natives and we laughed at the translations on screen. Another excellent performance was that of Sonia Callin who played Miss Flannery

The two outstanding performances of the evening came from Jimmy, played by Nick Cain with a voice you could mistake for that of Will Young, and the star of the show, Millie, played superbly by Vicky Corkhill. Add a super, all singing and dancing chorus. The result - theatre at its best! Thank you all.
