The Douglas Choral Union was officially formed in the spring of 1896. Few British amateur operatic societies have such a history. We are older than the National Operatic Association, and were among the first 40 societies to affiliate. We are now probably the oldest surviving society among the association’s 2,400 members. No other Manx society has produced so many shows and entertained so many people.

Over the years the DCU has gone from strength to strength. With hard working members and
a dedicated committee, we've evolved to reflect the expectations of a modern day audience.

We are always looking for new talent to join our company. We also need help from time to time behind the scenes. If you think you would like to become involved in the DCU, either in a performing or non-performing role, then please contact us. We are a friendly society and we would love to hear from you.

Current Committee members are:

Chairman - Trish Fargher

Membership Sec - Sam Flynn

Members - Karl Bovenizer, Grace Cowie, Sam Flynn, Jane Short, Andy Simpson,

Alex Toohey, Lindsay Riordan
